Kelly (she/her)

Resident

Could you tell us about your connection with Braziers Park?

I have known Braziers for over 20 years, living here as a volunteer, resident, gardener, and currently as a lodger. Looking back Braziers has been many things to me: A shared home, hearth, family and community. A place of learning, contemplation, creativity, inspiration, challenge and frustration!

How would you describe Braziers to someone who has never heard of us before?

Braziers is a place where people of all ages, nationalities, beliefs, ideals, cultures and backgrounds can gather. My strongest connection though has always been with the land of fifty acres, consisting of ancient woodland, orchard, meadow, pasture, walled vegetable garden and formal gardens. All managed in a way that nurtures the soil and creates a wealth of diversity for people and wildlife.

How do you envision Braziers in the future?

In these times of climate crisis, division, deforestation, pollution, species and habitat loss, to me the land at Braziers is of such enormous value. Braziers has been its guardian for 75 years and my hope is that it will continue to be so for many more generations to come.
