Sound of Darkness: Shamanic Sound Healing
You are invited into an immersion of deep rest, listening, and connection through these monthly sound healing gatherings. Held in darkness, you will be guided to rest fully with eyes closed, allowing the senses to open in new ways. Sessions are intuitively led and may include story, spirit, song, and a wide range of instruments such as drum, rattle, gong, singing bowls, and other unfamiliar sounds. Held in a small, intimate group, each gathering offers a safe, supportive container for rest, reflection, and gentle inner exploration. Led by Hayley Trezise; various pricing options available.
Oxfordshire Art Weeks 2026
As part of Oxfordshire Art Weeks 2026, Braziers Park opens the Barn as a space for contemporary artistic responses to landscape, place, and history. Three local artists – Jacqueline Burrage, Wendy Botto, and Ariadna Alvarez – present paintings, ceramics, and sculptural works shaped by a shared love of the countryside and local heritage. The exhibition is open daily from 10am–6pm, except Monday 4th May, when it will be open from 4pm–7pm, reflecting Braziers Park as a living hub of creativity rooted in place. Free entry, no registration required.
Braziers Park May Fayre
Once again, Braziers Park will be open for our annual May Day celebrations. As ever, there will be live creative drop-in sessions, food and drinks, activities for children and families, and most importantly – Maypole dancing! It is a wonderful opportunity to visit Braziers, meet our resident community, and experience the spirit of the place firsthand. You are warmly invited to wander the grounds and enjoy the beauty of the estate in spring. This is a free event, but booking is essential.
Braziers’ Glaister Lecture
The Braziers Glaister Lecture 2026 is our annual public lecture, inviting a guest speaker to explore themes and questions relevant to our community and the wider political, social, and environmental moment we are living in. Continuing Norman Glaister’s inquiry into community, consciousness, and collective living, the lecture offers a thoughtful space for reflection and discussion rather than performance. This year’s speaker is Dr Lisa Silver, one of Oxfordshire’s longest-serving GPs, whose work offers a grounded lens on loneliness, stress, resilience, and connection in modern life. Optional homemade lunch follows.
Wood Festival
Wood Festival 2026 is a joyful, family-friendly celebration of music, creativity, and nature at Braziers Park. Across 15-17 May, enjoy authentic live music, 50+ free workshops, talks, and activities for all ages, plus dedicated spaces for kids and teens. Rooted in sustainability with renewable energy, wood-fired showers, and composting facilities, Wood brings people together in community amidst beautiful woodland surroundings – the way festivals should be. B&B accommodation in the main house has now sold out.
SOIL Wider Community Gathering
The SOIL Wider Community Gathering is part of Braziers Park’s themed series inspired by Satish Kumar’s Soil ~ Soul ~ Society. Over the bank holiday weekend, we will explore our relationship with soil through nature-connection practices, communal meals, foraging walks, gardening for wellbeing, creative workshops, film evenings, and time around the bonfire. Blending learning, making, and rest, the gathering offers space to slow down, reconnect with the land, and share in community. Join us for a day or the full weekend. The full programme will be published closer to the date.
Braziers Park Writers’ Retreat
A quiet space to write, reflect, and connect in peaceful surroundings. This mostly self-led retreat offers time away from everyday noise, with the freedom to shape your own creative rhythm – whether beginning a new project, refining a draft, or simply making space to think. Enjoy uninterrupted writing time, shared silence, and the companionship of fellow writers. The retreat runs from Friday to Monday, with communal workspaces, outdoor grounds, and home-cooked meals. All income supports Braziers Park’s charitable aims.
The Art of Soul Flight: An Introduction to Shamanism
The Art of Soul Flight is a two-day introduction to shamanism, focusing on the essential practice of shamanic journeying. Guided sessions will explore the basic principles of shamanic work, including journeying into non-ordinary reality, partnering with spirit, and using these practices as a resource for reflection and everyday problem-solving. Across the weekend you will learn to journey for yourself and others, work with drum and rattle, and take part in a power dance. Day two introduces shamanic healing, divination, and a community healing.
Phuture Sessions
Phuture Solstice Sessions returns for a summer celebration of drum & bass, sound system culture, and community. Taking place around the summer solstice, the event brings together 27 DJs, deep rhythms, and an open-air dancefloor in the unique surroundings of Braziers Park. Expect conscious bass music, shared energy, and a welcoming crowd coming together to mark the longest days of the year through sound and movement. B&B is available in the house for Friday and Saturday at £70/night – email admin@braziers.org.uk for more information.
Communities Conference 2026: Growing the Movement
The 5th annual Communities Conference returns to Braziers Park, bringing together people committed to collective living and community-building. This year’s conference focuses on shaping and strengthening our network, exploring the structures, values, and practices that support shared life. Through facilitated group conversations, the weekend fosters collaboration between existing communities and supports those developing new projects, aiming to create lasting connections, shared purpose, and practical ideas that continue to grow beyond the event.
Children’s Clay Club – Tile Painting Workshop
A relaxed, hands-on ceramics session for children aged 7–12+ (KS2). Each child will decorate a pre-made, pre-fired clay tile using ceramic paints, stamps, and simple clay techniques, exploring pattern, colour, and imagery inspired by nature, stories, or their imagination. No previous experience is needed – guidance will be provided, with plenty of freedom for personal creativity. As the tiles are pre-fired and unglazed, children can take their finished artwork home the same day. The workshop lasts around one hour.
Reed Pen & Ink Workshop
Join us for a lively, exploratory ink drawing workshop in the grounds of Braziers Park. We’ll work from photographs or, weather permitting, from life, using bamboo pens (and possibly making our own from twigs) to draw with ink on paper. Through pattern and varied mark-making, we’ll build compositions as a series of small pieces or one larger work. With no pencil underdrawing and a single colour, we’ll work directly and spontaneously – embracing unpredictability as the ink runs out and marks shift. This process supports looser, more confident drawing, where every mark stays.
The Braziers Park Reunion 2026
This gathering is open to all former volunteers and residents of Braziers Park. It offers a warm opportunity to return, reconnect with old friends, and enjoy time together in the beautiful place you once called home. The week will centre on friendly conversation, gentle excursions, and simply being together in a familiar setting. Please note that the Reunion includes a commitment of up to two flexible working hours per day.
Braziers International Film Festival
Braziers International Film Festival (BIFF) is an annual three-day independent film festival held at Braziers Park. Screened inside the historic 18th-century barn, the festival presents international programmes of documentary, animation, fiction, and contemporary artists’ film and video. Alongside screenings, BIFF includes special focus programmes, installations, performances, and discussions. Curated by artist Nick Jordan, the festival is run as a not-for-profit collective, with films selected through an open call and proceeds supporting Braziers Park’s charitable aims.
OM & BASS
On Friday 4 September 2026, Om & Bass returns to Braziers Park for its 15th year of music, wellness, and celebration. The UK’s original music and wellbeing festival, Om & Bass is proudly ethical, inclusive, and accessible – with a waste-free site, no single-use plastic, expert-led workshops, and fundraising to help end human trafficking in India. Expect pure vibes, zero pretension, and joyful, down-to-earth wellbeing. Free for kids, carers, camping, and parking.
Sing Out! With Kirsty Martin
Sing Out! With Kirsty Martin is a joyful, inclusive singing weekend celebrating connection through shared voice. Open to all – from the curious to the confident – the weekend offers a relaxed, supportive space with no auditions, solos, or need to read music. Songs are taught by ear, focusing on harmony, rhythm, listening, and the pleasure of making sound together. Guided with warmth and humour, the weekend invites participants to sing, connect, and rediscover the joy of voice in community.
Opening to Silence
This weekend of deep meditation and yoga offers space to discover that – quite naturally – you are already whole. Sam Settle and Sandy Chubb will guide periods of silence, allowing time to become intimate with the presence of who you are. As the mind and heart quieten, the ego softens, and something new begins. Asana and pranayama sessions will gently free the body, supporting ease in seated meditation. Set within the beautiful landscape of Braziers Park, the weekend also offers time to enjoy nature by day and beneath the crescent moon and stars by night.
