Caroline (she/her)
Education CoordinatorCould you tell us a bit about yourself, your interests, and your connection to Braziers Park?
My name is Caroline, I’m originally from Austria, but I’ve been living in the UK for eight years now. I moved to the UK to study Contemporary Arts Practice at Bath Spa University and later completed my Masters in Fine Arts at The Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford. I first came into contact with Braziers Park through BIFF (Braziers International Film Festival). I was lucky enough to screen my first short film during the 2021 festival and was invited to co-programme the festival the following year. I’ve been involved with the film festival since – some years more than others – and started working as Braziers’ Education Coordinator in March 2024.
Could you tell us about your role and responsibilities at Braziers?
I’ve been working as Braziers’ Education Coordinator since spring 2024. Braziers hosts a number of public events throughout the year, including practical workshops, talks, spiritual retreats, seasonal Open Days, Wider Community Weekends, and our annual Braziers International Film Festival (BIFF). My role is multi-faceted and includes educational research, networking, marketing & promotion, project management, and the overseeing and occasional hosting of events. I work very closely with my team and the wider community to develop an annual education programme that reflects the values and interests of our community as well as responds to the wider political, societal, and environmental climate.
Could you tell us about your work outside of Braziers?
Besides my role at Braziers, I’m a freelance artist working with performance, social practice, and film. I’ve got a strong interest in peatlands and bryology (the study of mosses) and most of my works are created in close collaboration with environmental charities, scientists, and community groups. I also work as a freelance project coordinator at RE-PEAT, a youth-led environmental organisation advocating for global peatland justice through art, activism, and peatland education work.
